March 4

Simple machines, they make the world go 'round. Here's one of my favorites. "A screw is an inclined plane wrapped around a pole". This one seems to be missing the pole, though. Oooh! Maybe it's a 'fill in the blank' puzzle (well, fill in the pole) and when you find the proper pole, you get a prize!

This isnt a simple machine anymore. It is a complex machine, with several inclined planes (the point, or wedge, is a variation on multiple inclined planes, and then the screw itself), there is also an axle (the partially missing pole) and two imaginary wheels. Finally, at the handle, you have two levers sharing a common fulcrum, which happens to be the center of the axle.
